  • How do I raise money for my cause?
  • Select a cause, click on a store, and make a purchase. Your cause earns money*. The more you purchase, the more your cause receives!

  • How does it work?
  • Clicking through to a retail partner store and shopping there results in a referral commission and your cause earns money.* Clicking on store at Support By Shopping and making a purchase results in a commission.

    When your organization or your supporters shop at many of your favorite online stores (e.g. Target, Best Buy, Buy.com, Amazon.com and over 100 others) linking to the store from the Support by Shopping site with your cause designated, your cause earns a commission. Again, the best part is that there is absolutely no cost to your cause or your supporters!

    Essentially SupportByShopping.com redirects advertising fees/commissions towards causes.

    Shoppers (Supporters or people in your organization) can link to a store and designate a cause in 3 ways:
  • Go to cause specific website (e.g. Pack559.supportbyshopping.com supports Cub Scout Pack 559 of Glenview, IL) and click on a store link
  • Go to the home page www.SupportByShopping.com, select the cause and then click on a store link
  • Link from the cause's own website containing store links provided by Support By Shopping (For those with website development knowledge: Uses a frame calling to the cause specific part of the Support By Shopping website..As simple as one line of code)
  • When the cause itself or supporters click on the store link and complete their purchase (at that time), the store will send Support By Shopping the commission (usually within 90 days), and then we will write a check to the cause (checks are generally issued on a quarterly basis). It's that simple-there is no cost to the cause or supporters.

    Finally, in order to pay for our expenses, Support By Shopping will retain just 20% of the affiliate commissions (i.e. causes receive 80% of commissions). You can see Conditions and Terms Of Use page more details.

  • Yes! The supporters/shoppers do not pay an extra fee and there is no cost to the cause. Affiliate stores simply pay a commission* and Support by Shopping passes on 80% of that commission to the selected cause and Support By Shopping retains just 20% to pay operating expenses to maintain and improve the site etc.

  • Where does the money come from?
  • When someone links to one of our affiliate stores from our website and purchases online during that visit, the store pays a commission* (also sometimes called a advertising or marketing fee).

  • Does shopping here cost more than buying directly from the retailer online website?
  • No. Shoppers are actually shopping directly at the retailer's website. The difference is that your selected cause can receive money* when you use Support by Shopping to link to a store, so click Bookmark This Page.

  • What is the benefit cycle?
  • Visiting Support By Shopping first then following the link to a retail partner to shop allows you to buy what you need, pay the same amount, receive your same purchase, AND support a cause.* It's a win-win situation!

  • When will my cause receive the money from my purchase?
  • While affiliates vary in their processing times, payments usually take at least 60 to 120 days following the purchase/ This time is to ensure that items purchased are not cancelled or returned.
